Faith Isn't Faith
Until We Put It
Into Practice!

 

 

Recent surveys have determined that a large number of interviewed people believe that they are Christians because they were born in the U.S. The truth is, the Country where you were born has nothing whatever to do whether or not you are a Christian.

A great number of people attend church thinking that going to church makes them a fine Christian.  Again, church attendance in itself has nothing at all to do with having a believing faith in JESUS CHRIST.

Since these things are true, what actually determines if a person is Christian.  Your answer is found in the most popular verse in the Holy Bible.

John 3:16

"For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS One and Only Son so that whoever should believe
in
HIM should not perish but have eternal life."

Once a person has put their belief in JESUS, they learn to joyfully obey HIS Word in order to experience a daily relationship with HIM.  What we believe on the inside and what we practice on the outside can be radically different, and critical to our faith.  JESUS explains this principle to us clearly in the following Scriptures:

Luke 6:46-48

"Why do you call me, 'LORD, LORD,' and do not do what I say?  I will show you what he is like who comes to ME and hears MY words and puts them into practice He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock.  When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built."

Faith isn't faith until we put it into practice.  It is one thing to look at a hungry man on a street and acknowledge he is very hungry, and another thing to buy him something to eat.  The existence of genuine faith is expressed in our lives in a way that JESUS CHRIST is honored in the faith we put into practice.

Philippians 4:8-10

 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever
is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into
practice.
And the
GOD of peace will be with you.

The next time someone wonders if we really are a Christian or not, let your practiced faith be the answer they seek.
