House Calls!

Welcome to page 2 on the topic of:  GOD makes house calls. 

On page one we began the topic of how money has been the major factor (one thing) as to why doctors have discontinued their old time practice of making house calls.  Here we will show two examples of modern doctor - patient relationships. 

A 96 year old woman was allowed to only see her doctor once a month.  She would go to her doctor's clinic with a list in her mind of her maladies, the pains and sufferings she had to daily endure, many of which would keep her awake all night.  This aged woman was ushered to a chair by a nurse and was told the doctor would be in soon to see her.  The doctor would then enter the office, open her computer, say; "Hello", and then put one finger in front of the face of the aged woman and say; "One thing!".  We are only going to discuss one thing today, only one!"  The woman would become nervous and say the only, and first thing that came to her mind, and it was often not the worst problem she was suffering from.  That meant she had to suffer for the next 30 days before she could once again see her  (just one, one only problem this month doctor).  

Some doctors yell at their co-workers, patients and everyone else they happen to come across when they are having a bad day.  Self importance is a medal to such a doctor.  Not long ago I had to go to an Emergency Room at a local hospital for treatment.  The doctor said to me; "Just what do you think is wrong with you this evening?"  I answered him and he became upset and said; "Just when did you get your doctor's license anyway?"  I was shocked by his attitude, and too embarrassed to respond.

By the way, that visit to the Emergency was approximately $2,000.00!  It was a good thing that I was only treated for one thing.

Another person wrote me and said that they had a 30 minute operation for one thing that involved a nurse and a doctor and they were billed $6,800.00!  A bit more than a doctor could make in a 30 minute house call.
