Living your life day by day in the 'JOY' of the LORD!

Love According To
Luke!

Luke 3:22
And the HOLY SPIRIT descended on HIM in bodily form like a dove.  And a voice came from heaven: "YOU are MY SON, whom I love; with YOU I am well pleased."

This miracle of the HOLY SPIRIT descending on JESUS takes place the moment JESUS is finished having John, the Baptist water baptise HIM.  The voice of the FATHER confirms the love, calling and ministry of the SON.

Luke 6:27
"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.

JESUS
makes it clear that hate is not the order of the Kingdom of GOD, only by loving those who do not love us can we obey HIM.

Luke 6:32
"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?  Even 'sinners' love those who love them.

JESUS
expects us to love people we not only do not know personally, but be love those who are not able to return our love for various reasons.

Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because HE is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

If you are willing to obey GOD by giving your most precious gifts of love and money to people who could never return the same to you, then your heart becomes nearer to GOD'S heart.  After-all, no man can repay GOD for all HE has done for them.

Luke 7:42
Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both.  Now which of them will love him more?"

Giving love and mercy to another person in large quantities, will bring forth a greater love and respect from the one you have loved.

Luke 7:47
Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much.  But he who has been forgiven little loves little."

Great forgiveness brings about great love in return.  Minor forgiveness will bring about minor love.

Luke 10:27
He answered: " 'Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' ; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "

Love, love, love.  You are to love GOD passionately, and love all others, especially fellow Believer's equal to the way you love yourself to be in a right standing before the LORD.

Luke 11:42-43
"Woe to you Pharisees, because you give GOD a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of GOD.  You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.  "Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the most important seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.

Just giving the LORD a tenth of all your blessings does not prove goodness in your heart.  GOD is said to be the GOD of the heart, not the GOD of your checkbook.  Give your tenth (tithe), and give extra care of your heart of love toward the One who loves you with all HIS heart.

Luke 16:13-14
"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both GOD and Money."  The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at JESUS.

The heart of man will determine the love of man for GOD and others.  Serve the sinful nature, love money and loose eternal life.  Serve the LORD with all your heart, love HIM in return for the love HE first gave you, and your heart will become pure.

Luke 20:13
"Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do?  I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect him.'

Out of a heart of
love, give to the LORD your most precious, and loved thing or person (son), and your love will continue to grow to the LORD because you know HE will be sure to take care of your gift to HIM.

Luke 20:46
"Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.

It is almost terrifying!  Just because a person is a Leader in GOD'S House/Church, it does not mean that they love GOD or have a loving heart for the people they are to Shepard.  Arrogance and pride can destroy pure love for GOD and for people as well.
