Self-Pity
(1)
The topic of this Article is Self-Pity. The reason for your visit is that you, or someone you know seem to often fall into Self-Pity. This Article is NOT a psycho-babble or a 10 Step Program to cover up the symptoms of Self-Pity in a person's life. Self-Pity is a spiritual problem that has found a way through an open door to attack and disable people from living a completely productive lifestyle. It is best to concentrate on the Path to freedom over and separate from the thing or thngs that turned you into a Self-Pity person in the first place. Nobody treats a person controlled by Self-Pity worse then themselves. Just look into a mirror:
Now, before you begin to think that you are all alone with your feelings of Self-Pity, it's important to note that many of the most powerful people of the world have to deal with some of these same emotions. By the way, that includes some of the most powerful people in the Bible as well, even though they eventually did great works for the LORD. The individual who suffers from Self-Pity today, should not automatically think that they will never have anything important to offer to the world. Everyone has a different life story that lead to different strengths and weaknesses. When it comes to Self-Pity, a person has often had to face experiences like: Hardships, persecution, poverty, sickness, mental, physical and or sexual abuse by those meant to love them. The list goes on and on. Such experiences often lead people to behave in ways of: Fear of people, helplessness, drug and alcohol addictions, disabling emotional pain, arrogance, or powerlessness to live a normal lifestyle. The road that leads a person to freedom from Self-Pity is different for each person, but there are a few things that are extremely helpful along the Path to freedom. |
