Prayer According To JESUS
Matthew 6

 - ABOUT PRAYER -

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.  But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your FATHER, who is unseen. Then your FATHER, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.  And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.  Do not be like them, for your FATHER knows what you need before you ask HIM.

Matthew 6:5-8

In Matthew 6:5-8, JESUS wants HIS disciples to understand the basics of prayer The Follower of JESUS does not pray to the FATHER in such a way as to impress other people in order to be respected or honored, but to ask for blessings and help for others as well as themselves.

Also, long-winded prayers to impress GOD are not required or wanted!  The length of a prayer is not as important as content.  Many miracles have been performed by the words; "JESUS, help me!"

It is not always easy to remember that your HEAVENLY FATHER knows what you need before you ask HIM.  Once that truth sinks in and you pray accordingly, you will have more time to do other important things besides praying.

If the LORD were like me, AND HE'S NOT, praise JESUS, HE might get bored listening to some of my prayers, and maybe a few of yours as well.  It is a good thing that no matter how religiously boring a person might become in a long on-going prayer, the FATHER never stops listening to the heart of the one praying.
