Living your life day by day in the 'JOY' of the LORD!

Luke 10:41-42
"And
JESUS answered and said to her 'Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.  But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.'"

This passage starts in Luke 10:38 where it talks about two sisters.  These two sisters are Martha and Mary.  Martha welcomes JESUS into her home and sets about serving Him.  Mary, however, sat at JESUS' feet and 'heard His word' (Luke 10:39).  We are entering into the season of busyness (Christmas).  This is the time that we madly cook, clean, buy, organize, decorate, wrap and participate in a variety of other activities that keep us 'busy'.

Just like Martha, we can become so wrapped up in these things that keep us busy that we forget to take the time to sit at
JESUS' feet like Mary.  However, part of this Christmas season is the element of hospitality that we see in Martha.  Martha was the elder sister.  As the elder sister, she felt a tremendous responsibility to take care of the demands of providing for the needs of her guests.  On the other hand Mary served JESUS in a different way.  She attended JESUS by sitting at His feet.  Both of these women served JESUS.  One served with practical devotion, while the other served with practical duties.  Our Christmas celebration takes both forms of service, especially the 'good part'.

May all of you experience the very best Christmas you have ever had with one another this year.  The
LORD
is with you.

Join with me today, with an open heart before GOD, and make sure we take the time to sit at His feet this Christmas Season just like Mary who chose to do the 'good' part'.
